Dear Lit Motors Community,

Fall is in full swing, and we’ve got an update for you. Thank you for supporting our mission!

X-1 Prototype Development

In Germany, at Ideenion, Stefan Schaeper is continuing towards the completion of CAS for AirShaper to calibrate and correct for vehicle aerodynamics & design. Once completed, Stefan and the team at Ideenion will focus on the ingress & egress on the front and rear swing arms; optimizing space w/o compromising vehicle comfort.

Black Box

The Portland team has received and assembled the electronics for 2x Black boxes that will be used to collect data on the tandem Mini 1.0 for data comparison and evaluation with Mike’s set in Arizona. He will be working with the Portland team to install, modify, & calibrate the software, and port it for Mini.

Ideenion has also recently assembled their initial Black Box with software completed.

Mini 1.0

Mike has been progressing with hardware installation & assembly on the Mini in Arizona. He’s gotten more mechanical design work done, while designing cable covers for the motor controllers, crash protection brackets, and computer mounting brackets. Integration of the computers onto the chassis has begun as testing of the motors in situ is now required. Software work continues with interface development for the remote control features of the Mini vehicle.

Monthly Survey

For this month’s survey, we’re curious to hear about our audience’s current or recent automotive buying experiences. As we develop the next generation of vehicles that will transform the future of mobility, we’re taking a holistic, technology-driven approach to reimagining every aspect of the customer experience.

September Survey Results:

In last month’s survey, we asked our audience, given the news of federal EV incentives set to expire, if that would impact behavior in purchasing an EV. Only 3.2% indicated they were impacted, while 87.3% said they did not get a new EV.

We also asked if this expiration would change future behavior in the decision to purchase an EV. 45.3% of respondents said they would be just as likely to purchase an EV without incentives, while another 17.2% said it would only partially influence their decision to purchase an EV.

Website updates

We took some time this month to review, adjust, and add to the Lit Motors website, updating our FAQ, news/press, team page, etc.

We’ve streamlined the site to make it easier to navigate and more mobile friendly. We’d love to hear your feedback and comments on the improvements.

More updates to come. Thanks for being part of Lit!

I'm eager to hear and watch this X-1 prototype 'wake up' and motor about! Speaking of ingress & egress, I'd first considered how the CMGs compensate for passenger weight no matter if they trip & fall or deliberately attempt to challenge the balance. Then I realized that for safety, the vehicle should always remain parked during loading & unloading.
