Dear Lit Motors Community,
Happy belated August! We hope you’ve had a chance to get away this summer, even for a few days.
After two newsletters devoted to the engineering behind the X-1, we have a little news from beyond the workshop. Danny presented at the SF Hardware Summer Showcase, and EV World published a new feature on the company’s long road from vision to validation. Both moments pointed to the same thing: people are ready to see the Nexus move from story to experience.

Danny received a warm reception from investors and fellow hardware builders, with questions ranging from our patents to plans for test drives. He particularly enjoyed hearing from younger attendees about what they would want from a vehicle like the Nexus. One investor’s observation stayed with us: the demonstrations were compelling, but before buying one, they would want to sit inside. Many of you will recognize that feeling. Providing that experience is central to the X-1 Beta prototype.
Lit Motors, then and now
EV World’s “The Resurrection of Lit Motors: From Vision to Validation” begins with the engineering behind the X-1, then returns to our first San Francisco workshop, when the early prototypes were drawing attention and production seemed close.
What followed was considerably harder. Danny’s accident and lengthy recovery interrupted the company’s early momentum. During the quieter years, work continued on the controls, the patent portfolio, and the engineering relationships needed to develop the vehicle.
Some of you have followed this story almost from the beginning. Others are meeting Lit Motors for the first time. The feature is a good read for both.
Thank you for keeping up with us through a busy summer of fundraising. We have been working through diligence meetings all through July and August, and we’ll have more to report in October. To our preorder holders in particular, we appreciate the confidence you have placed in Lit Motors and the patience this project has asked of you.
