Dear Lit Motors Community,

Winter is here, and we hope your holiday season has been full of joy!

With the recent halt in service of Waymo autonomous vehicles in San Francisco, we’re reminded that when these autonomous 4W vehicles are rendered non-functional, they become space hogging obstacles in our roadways, clogging and creating unnecessary traffic & congestion.

The fact is that we can’t continue to widen roads economically, so our best option is to tailor the modern car for our needs. At half the size, an autonomous Lit Motors AEV wouldn’t create congestion like this.

It’s been a productive year for Lit Motors, and we want to thank those who supported our Wefunder equity crowdfunding campaign this year. The campaign was a defining moment for us, boosting our progress and increasing our pre-orders by 61%! That kind of traction is rare and shows us that there’s a market to disrupt. Our focus moving forward to prove this further.

Since the campaign ended, we’ve been moving fast. We started development of our comprehensive embedded system and began locking down our dynamic model with the help of our Controls Engineer, former Honeywell Fellow, Brian Hamilton. In August, Brian updated our controls approach, and in November 2025, we filed a new patent that resets our patent clock all the way out to 2046!

We’ll have more updates coming in the new year as we near Mike’s deadline for completion of the static balance of the Mini 1.0 prototype at the end of this month. Developing this small-scale prototype has allowed us to develop the core system, which accelerates our roadmap, reduces risk, and will save significant time and resources in the production phase.

More updates to come. Thanks for being part of Lit!

Danny Kim
