Lit Motors was founded on the goal of making personal transportation safer, more efficient, and exciting. The AEV platform achieves this by integrating the romance of a motorcycle with the safety and comfort of a car.
Our mission as a TBL automotive company, is to provide a vehicle with an equivalent value proposition of a 4W EV while making a positive ecological & social impact by reducing manufacturing waste, emissions, and time spent commuting.
Recently a few of you have asked about the logo’s meaning. Designed in 2010, the main outline is comprised of two circles, representing the twin gyros that create balance and stability.
The middle of the design has a flame being blown out; a reference to reducing dependence on fossil fuels. As a whole, it also resembles a cloud (alternative energy powered by wind & solar) and a racetrack. Oddly, this added another dimension to the company’s story, based on founder Daniel Kim’s accident at Laguna Seca.
A voice of reason
Everyone loves EVs, but let’s face it: The reality is that they’re unsustainable. 76% of Americans and 50% of people worldwide drive alone.
4W vehicles require excessive amounts of materials, road space, batteries, and energy. There should be more vehicles ½ the size - seating two, with ⅛ the parts count, ⅙ the battery pack, and ¼ the weight, but with the same safety features.
This vehicle of the future should be a call to action for 21st Century Generations - Gen Z, Millennials, and Gen X - to adopt these core values as major solution for the future of commuting and climate change.
If you’ve been wondering what caused the developmental delays and what happened to the founder over the last seven years, here are some updates in this recent interview with CEO Daniel Kim on theMicromobility Podcast. In this conversation with Oliver Bruce, Daniel talks about the Lit Motors journey, the motorcycle accident, and the exciting days to come.
Preorders are coming back!
We’re going to re-open AEV pre-orders on February 1st, with a goal of reaching 10,000 units by 2026 and an additional goal for production of 100K units over the next 5 years. Check out our new website section and join us as we create a balanced future!
Our projections indicate demand for millions of commuters in the world market. By achieving the initial goal of 10K pre-orders, Lit Motors can become net income positive, paving the way for much larger production volume. We will be going to Germany in the next few months to work on production development with our partners. More on that next month.
Lastly, for those who have inquired, this winter we will explain the steps of how to invest in Lit Motors. We look forward to sharing lots of exciting news with you this year. Stay tuned!
