Spring is back and the global transition to electric and autonomous mobility is accelerating. End of Q1 2026, Autonomous driving is starting to see the beginning of the Hockey stick 🏒 as investments of $21.4B pour in over 34 deals across the sector. Motion sickness remains one of the most persistent barriers to passenger adoption in autonomous vehicles, with studies showing that a meaningful share of riders may experience discomfort in self-driving settings.

We are ecstatic to announce that Lit Motors has captured a meaningful advantage in the Transportation space. Lit Motors recently secured a major intellectual property milestone: its anti-motion sickness trajectory-shaping Patent 1 of 16 USPTO filings - Priority June 10, 2020. This technology has also been protected internationally across key markets, including the UK, Germany, Japan, South Korea, China, and Canada. The patent covers the Lit AEV and other autonomous driving vehicles, a method and apparatus for continuous trajectory shape generation in autonomous vehicles, RTOS, constraining lateral acceleration on the passenger inner ear vestibular system, and "jerk" to help reduce motion-sickness-inducing vehicle dynamics.

This IP is strategically important for licensing revenue and future partnerships because it addresses a market-wide problem, not a niche feature. Our anti-motion sickness patent is significant because 30% of riders are highly sensitive to motion sickness, and a bad experience gets proportionally 2-3x more shares than a good one. It’s a law of marketing. Nobody texts their friends to say the ride was smooth, but they’ll absolutely tell everyone when they felt sick. That 30% isn’t just a lost customer, it is a steep chasm. You can’t advertise your way out of that, so we engineered a way out using old NASA data from tests conducted on pilots.Â
Lit Motors is working with Ideenion in Ingolstadt, Germany, to support prototype development and move the program closer to real-world market validation. The company is also evaluating an NVIDIA self-driving hardware platform as part of its autonomous stack, a step that could strengthen technical alignment for future strategic partnerships.
